Do You Have or Are you Expecting Twins, Triplets or More?

When you find you are expecting twins or more, you may experience a range of emotions, from shock to happiness to worry and wonder how you will cope.  One thing you can do is try to meet other parents of multiples who can give advice and support. 

North Somerset Twins Plus is open to anyone who is expecting or who already has had a multiple birth.  We are actually four twins and triplets clubs from the North Somerset area who have come together to share advice, support and resources. Our clubs are based in Weston-super-Mare, Clevedon, Nailsea and Portishead and we have members from all of the surrounding areas within North Somerset.

We are a non-profit making organisation affiliated to TAMBA (the Twins and Multiple Birth Association) - see our links page to see the TAMBA website. We are run entirely by volunteers - parents of multiples just like you! If you would like to offer your help to the club in any way, or would just like to become more involved, please contact a member of our commitee (see the contact us page).

We charge an annual membership fee of £5 (Clevedon/Nailsea/Portishead Clubs) or £12 (Weston-Super-Mare club) to cover production and postage costs of the monthly newsletter, upkeep of the website and posters etc and some subsidised events such as the Christmas Party and a summer trip. Once you have joined one of our four clubs, you will receive our monthly newsletter keeping you up-to-date of not only the twins club meetings and events, but also any other events in the area which may be of interest to parents with young children. The newsletter also includes reviews of equipment, member profiles, hints and tips, recipes - the list is endless! As a member you will also be given access to the members only section of this site which will enable you to see our full members contact list.

Equipment

It is sometimes expensive to buy two or more of every piece of equipment so members are happy to share their experiences of prams, cots etc. 

The club’s monthly newsletter has a for sale/wanted section so equipment and clothes may be bought second-hand.  At evening meetings there are often clothes and/or toys for sale.

Social Events

Events include:

• Regular organised meetings
• Ad-hoc get-togethers (usually coffee mornings at members' houses!) or trips out and about
• Annual Teddy Bears Picnic
• Monthly evening meetings at different members’ homes (often a chance to get out without the children!)
• Christmas Party
• Christmas Evening Out for Mums and Dads
